Welcome to Delpine Farms

Delpine Farms is a family run, mixed vegetable market garden located at the foothills of the Little Belt Mountains and Castle Mountains in Martinsdale, Montana. We rotate laying hens around the farm to produce the most excellent pasture raised eggs. We farm a wide variety of seasonal vegetables using farming practices and plant selections that work with nature instead of against it. We can only begin to produce a healthy crop, once we have nurtured our soil so above all else, we focus on developing a diverse and thriving soil biology. We utilize compost, compost teas, cover crops, beneficial flowers and plants attracting beneficial insects, follow no-till practices and plant seeds that are developed for growing in our extreme and changing climate conditions.

Lt’s talk big picture. We are super focused on our farm and our impact on our land, but we are also aware of our larger impact on our world and ecosystems. In the past we have stayed away from produce products that require plastic packaging as we just have never felt comfortable creating more products packaged is single-use plastics and contributing to an unsustainable system. That all changed when we found a compostable clamshell from EcoMontana for our microgreens and salad mixes. While we do not yet have access to a comercial composter to properly compost these packaging products, we still feel that these products are still better even if they end up in a landfill. They will break down eventually and will not be a forever-plastic contaminant left behind long after we are gone. Because we care about using eco-friendly packaging we also needed a compostable package label. We are proud to use PURE Labels for our 100% compostable/recyclable labels, made by Elevate Packaging. We love our planet and know that each sustainable packaging choice we make matters!

 Testimonials

  • I can not overstate how much we have enjoyed and actually counted on Delpine Farms during the farmstand months. The produce was excellent and I really appreciated how communicative Shauna was week to week letting us know what to expect, etc. It felt like we all grew together this summer and fall and contributed to a very worthy service- fresh and local produce, a community of folks who love to support this family farm, and also the support of various small Montana businesses that Delpine Farms have brought to our attention week to week by having their products available. My family can’t wait to see what they have in store next season! - McKenzee Kemper, Harlowton

  • Being a part of Delpine Farms was one of the best highlights of 2020. Going through the process with Shauna and family was enlightening and fun. The ups and downs, being part of the success and errors was amazing. Shauna keeps you updated and you feel like part of the farm. Also trying new vegetables and food expanded our families tastes and we really enjoyed having fresh healthy meals at our table. We can’t wait until next year! - Megan Cameron, Harlowton
